Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax system in Texas, as well as information regarding specific properties within the district.
Dimmit Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within Dimmit County. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).
The Appraisal District has sent out 2019 appraisal notices to Dimmit County Property Owners.
State law requires appraisal districts to notify property owners about changes in their property’s value. The Dimmit Central Appraisal District has mailed out property owner’s notices showing their Proposed 2019 Property Appraised Values. If your value or information on file did not change, a notice will not be generated. The owner still has a right to protest. Owners have 30 Days to file a protest with the Appraisal Review Board on any disagreement the owner may have with the information on the notice or on file. The deadline to protest is June 3, 2019.
